NO-RISK AND LOW-RISK COURSE DEVELOPMENT

Simple solutions and stunning value propositions are seductive, but they often fall short. Designing, developing and delivering quality eLearning courses does not come inexpensively. Cost factors include:

  • Instructional design, multimedia, graphic design, technical and other support salaries
  • Equipment for development and/or delivery
  • Copyright clearance and usage rights for materials
  • Student support services personnel
  • Infrastructure build out and/or upgrades

For publishing and shared-development partnerships, MSI will bear all or part of the cost to convert your programs to a Semi-Synchronous™ web-based format. In lieu of up-front payment, MSI will share in the revenue generated by the new version of the course.

COURSE HOSTING AND DELIVERY

Our support lines are monitored around the clock. MSI-developed courses are hosted on both Unix and Windows NT servers. We have three server sites, which are geographically distributed to provide disaster recovery capability. If there is a service outage in one location, courses can be routed to servers in another location. Our web servers are connected to the Internet via either T1 or DSL lines.

MSI’s comprehensive learning management platform enables administrators to easily register students online, monitor student activity and access statistical reporting for individuals and groups.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Once your course is developed, MSI will host the course on our server and provide all technical support services. Our technical support staff is always available to answer participant or instructor questions. Our development services also include training for your instructors. They will have access to examples of best practices in online facilitation. MSI will provide online or in-person instruction in online facilitation skills. Topics covered include:

  • Checking for understanding
  • Using a variety of communication media
  • Resolving conflict online
  • Methods for selecting partners and teams
  • Adapting the course to the learners in a specific cohort
